YouTube is My Favourite Website

I have got to give a big ups to YouTube in this blog entry. I have been doing this blog for almost a year, and although it hasn’t really caught on, I have had some great videos on here, and many of those have come from YouTube.

I think my favourite thing about YouTube is that you can preview bands and songs, pretty much any band or song, and find out if that music is for you. Some of the best finds on YouTube for me have been JFA, Bones Brigade, and Samhain.

YouTube is also great for seeing rear live footage or reliving shows that you have been at. Some of my favourite footage comes from the Gwar, Sick Of It All, and of course the Asian Man Records 15th Anniversary Festival. Man that was the best.

You can even see local shows such as an old Death By Stereo show in Winnipeg, or Jeremy Williamez Bean Boggler video which isn’t music, but it is worth the watch. Check out the Viva Las Moustache video Jaremy Ediger and I made for our broadcast journalism course at Red River College.

These are just the music reasons that you should watch You Tube a little more often. I watched most of the Twilight Zones on there, not to mention the Rocko’s Modern Life, and even some old school YTV Squawk Box. Heck I even found a “stopping on ice” sound effect for a piece I cut for TSN 1290 about the ice at MTS Centre.

YouTube, it’s not just stupid videos of people playing video games and playing crappy covers of songs anymore.

Didn't know that Ilike GG Allin until I listened to this
